Suit yourself

There isn’t presently any occasion in my life that warrants a need for any kind of pantsuit, let alone a banana-hued or tartan set, but I rarely let me needs direct my shopping inclinations, so why start now? Tailored to perfection, edged up just enough with the right shoes and handbag, and void of jewelry, this is definitely not your financial planner’s suiting.

Color me bad(ass)

Image

There is little I love more than an unexpected colour pairing that just works like magic. Wine and bright turquoise are certainly two shades I previously thought should only be seen in the washing machine (remember that old saying?), but the inimitable OP has proven be wrong. I looooooooooove this. And it’s also got me rethinking my stance on bright turquoise itself, a shade which I’ve had on a self-imposed no fly list after far too many turquoise sausage casing-like tight t-shirts from Space FB made their way into my closet during my formative fashion years (10 points to Montreal girls that know what I’m referring to!).

Overall, I’m in love

Overalls are clearly having a very trendy moment but I just can’t resist! I’ve already proclaimed my love for anything one-piece (jumpsuits, rompers, etc.) and am a longtime dress-lover, so overalls are just a natural extension of those lazy style leanings, right?!

I recently grabbed a pair from Zara (duh) and wore them out for drinks last week. It goes without saying that I felt equal parts comfy toddler and saucy sex kitten. Next up: shorteralls for summer. Obviously.

Crushin’ on you

Helena Bordon, Brazilian beauty and current street style crush, has been occupying my desktop for some time now. A popular Brazilian socialite and fashion blogger, Bordon has mastered the art of mixed prints, bold colour, and daring silhouettes with cool easy. And those subtle ombre locks? Waaaaaaaay ahead of Kim Kardashian.

The things I loved most about the looks from Paris Fashion Week: bright colours worn with total nonchalance, quirky details like polka dots, unexpected outerwear, and of course a certain je ne sais quoi that can be imitated but never duplicated (even if said looks are sported by 2 Americans and a Brazilian) 😉
